Lunch at Ryoma

Recently made a trip to Ryoma restaurant to taste and try out the Japanese food. Apparently, the food is prepared by a 65 year old Japanese chef. Ryoma is situated near Island Plaza and the restaurant have ample carpark.

Wife and I sampled some food, the quality is not bad, food is delicious. Although both of us felt a bit thirsty, must be some ajino-moto. Overall, the food is good, price wise is higher than the usual japanese fast food or japanese restaurant wannabe but not too much.

The ambience is quite good, maybe a way bit too dark. Some pics taken at Ryoma below:

Keeping my gear dry

After having my old analogue SLR kit lens infected with mould or fungus, I have decided to get myself a dry cabinet.

According to the booklet, camera and lens should be kept at 40% humidity, at that humidity, the environment is dry enough to keep it mould and rust free.

The dry cabinet needs a few hours to bring the humidity down, try to keep only essential items and not rubbish inside. After a few tries, try to avoid keeping box and lots of paper in the dry cabinet, it needs a longer time to bring the humidity down.

Dry cabinet specs:
  • 30 litres capacity( good for 2 bodies and some lens )
  • Analogue hygrometer
  • Electronically driven ( 16W, I hope that's correct )

My first leap into the digital photography

I finally made the jump in faith and went ahead to buy myself a digital camera, which I have been contemplating for quite a while.

Although the camera that I have bought is neither the latest nor the greatest, but that will suffice for now due to my shallow pocket and thin wallet.
Canon 350D is the cheapest(I think) DSLR in town.
Specs are:
  • 8 megapixel CMOS sensor( am not the megapixel crazy type )
  • standard kit lens( EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 )
  • also added a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens

Hopefully I can post some pictures that I have taken with my new toy.
