Ipoh food trip

Ipoh is almost synonymous for good food. Foh San is also known to many as the old school dim sum place to eat. It will be ready to serve people from 6am until 11am. But the early birds should get more variety and choice, be there before 7.30am to get the fresh dim sum.

Chinese tea is a must to go with dim sum.

Foh San dim sum

Apart from the famous dim sum, Ipoh is also famous for pomelos also known as Grapefruit, we went to Ah Sai's shop near tambun to get those sweet pomelos.

After shopping for Pomelos, we are off to another makan session, where else but the 'oldtown' kopitiam. Known for the famous white coffee, Nam Heong is also famous for egg tart and glutinous rice chicken.

Foh San is located at the 'new town city centre' while 'Oldtown' is situated at 'old town city centre' be sure to visit these place when in Ipoh.

Kirishima restaurant

Decided to give Kirishima restaurant a try for some japanese food. Located at Cititel Penang, parking is not a problem but quite expensive too, Rm4 per entry.

Kirishima menu with fried anchovies.

Fried anchovies up close.

We ordered snow cod fish, ice soba, curry chicken katsu. Didn't go for any gyuniku(beef), heard that Kirishima serves good beef, but not in the mood to eat beef either. Food wise, I think overall the dishes are a bit salty compare to Ryoma. The food quality is okay nothing to boast off.

Food portion is also marginal, good portion for the cheaper menu items but less portion for the more expensive items. Overall ratings:

Service: 4.0
